Letter to the Hungarian Government

11. September 2026 | Unkategorisiert

Together with numerous Austrian LGBTIQ organisations and civil society initiatives, RosaLila PantherInnen have written an open letter to Hungarian Prime Minister Péter Magyar, the Hungarian government, and the members of the Hungarian Parliament.

In the letter, we draw on our many years of experience in counselling and anti-discrimination work, as well as in cross-border cooperation with Hungarian partner organisations. The letter sets out concrete proposals for advancing legal equality and strengthening the protection of LGBTIQ people in Hungary, including in the areas of marriage, family, anti-discrimination, self-determination, and protection against hate crime.

With this joint letter, we aim to make a constructive contribution to the political debate and send a clear message in support of human rights, equality, and a Europe free from discrimination.
